    He killed Mark Hamill's acting career by turning him into a type-cast science fiction actor.

    He re-invented the way films were made, and he is a pioneer of special effects.
    He created the highly advanced THX sound system, which is an acronym for 'Thomas Hollman Experiment.'
    He formed Pixar Studios which specializes in computer animation.
    In his twenties, he was in a severe car accident and spent many months in the hospital recovering. While in the hospital he created the concept of 'The Force.'
    He turned Harrison Ford into a major film star.
    Star Wars has become one of the largest science fiction franchises in motion picture history, right next to Star Trek.
    He was good friends with Francis Ford Coppola.
    'Star Wars' was turned down by several studios until Twentieth Century Fox gave him a chance. Lucas agreed to forgo his directing salary in exchange for 40% of the film's box-office take and all merchandising rights. The movie went on to break all box office records and earned seven Academy Awards.
    He likes drag car racing.
    He has been uncredited for some of his work.
    He ranked #2 in Forbes Power List (2000).
