The Resume
(circa 1975- )
Born in Fullerton, California
Mother of octuplets, six boys and two girls (born on January 26, 2009 in Bellflower, California)
Why she might be annoying
She underwent IVF treatment even though she already had six kids also conceived through IVF (one of whom has autism).
She refused selective abortion even though this put the octuplets at risk for serious health problems.
At the time of her octuplets' birth, she was divorced and living with her parents plus six children in a three-bedroom house.
Her family had earlier gone into debt for a million dollars and filed for bankruptcy protection.
In her 'Today' interview with Ann Curry, she sported collagen-plumped lips and allegedly had a nose job as well.
She wants to be the new Kate Gosselin.
She said, 'The more they grow, the easier it becomes.'
Why she might not be annoying
She gave birth to the longest-living set of octuplets in history (as of February 2009).
She claims she grew up an only child in a dysfunctional family and was fulfilling her wish for many children.
She said she won't go on welfare.
She was injured at a psychiatric hospital she was working at when a riot broke out.
Her father said he would work in Iraq to help support his grandchildren.
She is pursuing her Masters degree and plans to become a family counselor.
Her case led to a valuable debate about whether there should be more restrictions on in vitro fertilization.
