    (1961-1968)
    Born in Orange, New Jersey
    Members in 1963:
    Barbara 'Bibbs' Allbut
    Phyllis 'Jiggs' Allbut
    Peggy Santiglia
Recorded the singles 'Til' (1961), 'Cry Baby Cry' (1962), 'My Boyfriend's Back' (1963) and 'I Adore Him' (1963)
Held several reunions of varying duration since the early 70s
Although the Allbut sisters were a constant, their lead singer changed repeatedly, with Linda Malzone replaced by Linda Jansen, followed by Peggy Santiglia, then Toni Mason, followed by Debra Swisher and finally Bernadette Carroll.
They tried unsuccessfully to cash in on Beatlemania with the single 'Little Beatle Boy' (1964).
They had to perform as the Halos for a while during a dispute over ownership of the 'Angels' name.
Santiglia said about the TV movie 'My Boyfriend's Back,' 'If the producers or NBC would have contacted us for the real story, ie the good stuff, it would have been so much more interesting.'
They originally recorded 'My Boyfriend's Back' as a publisher's demo, but it came out so well it was released as a single.
'My Boyfriend's Back' topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and reached #2 on the R&B chart.
They were also background singers on a number of songs, including Lou Christie's #1 hit 'Lightin' Strikes.'
Peggy Santiglia co-wrote the Four Seasons hit 'Beggin.'
