The Resume

    (October 19, 1976- )
    Resides in Franklin, Tennessee
Recorded 'If You Were Mine' 'If You Could Only See,' 'What I Really Meant To Say,' 'I Always Liked that Best,' 'Things I Would Do,' 'I'll Be Seeing You,' 'My World,' 'I'm Gone,' 'Hope You're Doing Fine'
Judge on the Miss Teen USA Pageant (2002)
Married Daniel Goodman (May 11, 2002)

Why she might be annoying:

At her gold record party, she cried (July 24, 2002).
Months after her first country album went gold, she retired (October 2002).
Capitol spent a load of money launching her career and was upset at her decision.
She wrote a retirement letter to her fans stating 'Being in the music business necessitates change in the life of a person in ways that can only be realized through experience. I made those changes to become successful.'
She continued 'Now I have come to a crossroad. The next step in my career would be to make a new album, thus making a commitment to see the project through with the many obligations that go along with it. I have now realized that I cannot commit to those obligations.'
This conflicts with what she wrote about her album: 'These songs are about my life. And I'm so blessed to be able to share them with you. Welcome to my world.'
It is possible she feared losing her touch, since after her #1 song, the next peaked at #21 and a third only reached #31 (February 2002).
She said she'd rather write than perform.
When she met her future husband, Daniel Goodman, the first thing she asked him was 'Do I have any boogers in my nose?' They married nine months later.
Her wedding was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.
After the wedding, the wedding party went to the laundromat where she and her husband met.
She played the clarinet, but admittedly not very good.
She says she can't live without her high heels.
Her trademark is red stiletto-heeled shoes.
She was once hired to sit in a tub and shave her legs for 3 hours for a release party for Deana Carter's song 'Have I Shaved My Legs for This?'
Although she sung in church, she had stage fright when she had to do her solos.
She dropped out of Belmont University to go to Nashville.
On writing her first song, she bothered God by praying: 'Lord, if you've ever heard any prayers in my life, hear this; let me write like I've never written before.'
She had a dog named Charlie and now has one named Sully.

Why she might not be annoying:

She is willing to expose her fears, doubts and vulnerabilities.
She is the youngest of four sisters.
People, Entertainment Weekly and The Washington Post touted her as the next big thing in country music.
She played in a City of Hope Celebrity Softball game and auctioned off a gold record to help create facilities for cancer patients.
She is part of joining hands with America's Second Harvest, which feeds America's hungry.
She is involved with teaching kids to read.
During the shooting of her calendar, she was bit by a baby pig.
Her role model is Trisha Yearwood.
