    Founders of the Shaw Brothers Production Studios in 1924, the production studio with the most Chinese language films in the world (over 800 titles in it's library)
    At it's peak, Shaw Brothers Ltd owned 135 cinemas throughout South East Asia, 9 amusement parks and 3 production studios
    Shaw Brothers Studios produced 192 of their own films
    Production stopped in 1983, and restarted for 2 more years of filmmaking in 1995
    Produced 'Come Drink With Me (1966),' 'Five Fingers of Death (1973),' 'The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (1974),' 'Infra-Man (1975),' 'The Mighty Peking Man (1977),' '36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978),' 'Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (1978),' 'Five Deadly Venoms (1978),' 'Chinese Super Ninjas (1982)' and 'The King of Masks (1996)'
    Between 1942 and 1945, they were forced to work for the Japanese and their theaters were made to show only Japanese propaganda films.
    Up until the 50s, they shunned American and English films, relegating them to third run cinemas at best.
    They put their sons in high positions within the studio without having to work their way up the company's hierarchy.
    Many film fans disdain from Shaw Brothers films, mainly due to their lack of interest to western audiences.
    They were known as 'The Hollywood of the East.'
    They are the fathers of Asian cinema, having their films span from the silent era at the beginning of the century to modern day box office hits.
    They kept cinema alive throughout Asia during some of the worst periods in history.
    They invented the kung-fu genre.
    They were well known for their ability to put together amazing ensemble casts.
    They made stars out of Fu Sheng, Ti Lung, Cheh Chang, Jimmy Wang Yu and Gordon Liu.
    To this day they are still one of the biggest distribution companies in Asia.
    A vast amount of their films became cult classics all over the world.
