Why he might be annoying:

    He was obese.
    He frequently appeared in drag for a cheap laugh, including once in front of the Queen of England.
    During the recording of 'The Navy Lark,' he and fellow actor Jon Pertwee would frequently hold up recordings due to fits of laughter.
    At the end of 'The Two Ronnies,' he and Ronnie Corbett would always close with Ronnie Corbett saying 'Well, it's Goodnight from me,' to which Ronnie Barker would reply '... and, it's Goodnight from him.'
    While on vacation in Australia, a fan asked him if he was Ronnie Barker, he responded in an Australian accent and said 'Sorry mate, a lot of people say that, but I ain't him.'
    He retired from acting to run an antiques business in 1988, only to return in 2004 to reprise 'The Two Ronnies' sketch show.
    He submitted many sketches to the producers of 'The Two Ronnies' under various pseudonyms.
    He published several books on vintage postcards.
    He did an advert for department store Marks & Spencer in 2002.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He had an excellent memory.
    In a BAFTA special shown by the BBC in 2004, stars as diverse as Gene Wilder, Peter Kay and Peter Hall paid tribute to his contribution to comedy and British television in general.
    He was not only a great comedian, but also a fine character actor.
    He was married to the same women (Joy Tubb) since 1959.
    He received an OBE for his contributions to comedy.
    He was considered one of England's greatest sit-com actors.
    He was the TV commercial voice-over for Pizza Hut in England.
