Why he might be annoying:

He lost a job as a teacher after being accused of having sex with a student (1930).
He was in charge of purging Jews from German universities.
He used the education system to indoctrinate children in Nazi ideology.
He would capriciously issue new regulations, then quickly rescind them. (Such as an attempt at creating a ‘rolling week’ of eight days – six days of school, followed by a ‘Reich Youth Day’ and a rest day.)
He committed suicide when Nazi Germany lost World War II.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was awarded the Iron Cross for bravery during World War I.
He suffered a head wound in battle, which may have contributed to his eccentric behavior.
He proposed spelling reforms, many of which were eventually adopted during the 1990s.
