    Born in St. Andrew, Jamaica
    Won silver (1988) and gold (1992) Olympic medals in 100-meters
    He violated Olympic rules on athletes wearing sponsors' logos by appearing at a press conference with contact lenses embossed with the Puma logo (1996).
    Derek Redmond said, 'He's a well-balanced athlete - he has a chip on both shoulders.'
    He complained about the British press using the phrase 'Linford's lunchbox' to describe the bulge in his Lycra shorts, but later posed for ads in just his underwear, giving everyone a good look at his lunchbox.
    He successfully sued journalist John McVicar for libel for implying that he used drugs (1998).
    The next year, he tested positive for the steroid nandrolone and was suspended for two years.
    He was the first man to simultaneously hold the Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles in the 100 meters.
    He was voted Britain's sexiest athlete (1991).
    West London Stadium was renamed Linford Christie Stadium in his honor (1993).
    He is an enthusiastic amateur gardener and co-hosted the TV series 'Garden Invaders.'
