    To top it off, he named his sons Starling Jr. and Smerling.
    He was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for a banned substance (2017).
    He played on three teams in a three year span after leaving the Pirates.
    He tried too hard to emulate Vladimir Guerrero's batting stance.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was primarily raised by his grandmother, after his mother passed away when he was 9 years old.
    He was the first player to come out of the Pirates Latin American complex to reach the major leagues.
    He is the third player in the history of the Pirates franchise to hit a home run in his first major league at-bat.
    He personally took responsibility for his actions, after he was suspended for using a banned substance.
    He hit a home run on the two year anniversary of the death of his wife, whom he dedicated it to (May 2022).
