Entrepreneur

The Resume

    (July 14, 1951- )
    CEO of EDventure Holdings
Founding chair of ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers)

Why she might be annoying:

She was a reporter for Forbes magazine during the mid-seventies and appears on their 2000 power list (is that a conflict of interest?)
Some of the critics of ICANN claim they favor corporations over individuals and that board members are not elected by the public. There is further concern that ICANN does not have to answer to anyone but itself.
She said 'Look at me. The American at-large community despises me, but I think I'm doing more good for At Large by working with ICANN than I would if I were out there simply criticizing them, not trying to improve them.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She graduated Harvard with a degree in Economics (1972).
She ranked #86 in Forbes Power List (2000).
She still publishes articles concerning business in prestigious journals such as the NY Times.
She petitioned to lower Internet Domain registration at $1 or less per year.
