    Assistant coach for the Boston Celtics (2001-04), Philadelphia 76ers (2004-05) and the Indiana Pacers (2007-11)
    Advance scout for the Los Angeles Lakers (2005-06) and the Washington Wizards (2006-07)

Why he might be annoying:

    He never played a game in the NBA as a player.
    Prior to basketball, he was known for being in a segment on 'The Late Show with David Letterman,' in which he spun a basketball on a toothbrush, as he brushed his teeth.
    He was fined after he openly criticized the officiating in a playoff series against the Heat, in which the Pacers lost (2012).
    He was routinely criticized by basketball pundits for how he used his bench during crucial games.
    Despite guiding the Pacers to a renaissance of sorts, he was fired after five seasons.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He got his start in coaching under Rick Pitino.
    He earned the Pacers head coaching job on a permanent basis after guiding the team to its first playoff berth in five seasons.
    He left the Pacers as the franchise's all time leader in wins, since joining the NBA ranks.
    He downplays his experience of being on David Letterman.
