    (November 27, 1946- )
    Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas
Member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives (2005-)
She created a national uproar with a speech saying that studies showed no society that embraced homosexuality has lasted more than a few decades and that it was an even bigger threat than Islam.
She never cited which studies she was referring to or what societies have disappeared.
She claimed to receive death threats in e-mails, but an officer who looked at them said 'I wouldn't characterize them as death threats.'
Not only was the comment offensive to gays, but also to Muslims.
She was stopped by security guards twice when she tried to bring a loaded gun into the Oklahoma State Capital.
She provided material for comediennes like Ellen DeGeneres and Margaret Cho.
She does not sugarcoat her beliefs.
She said she had no problem with gay individuals just gay activists with an agenda.
There were false rumors that her son was gay.
