    Recorded the singles ‘Looking for Love’ (1980), ‘One in a Million’ (1980), ‘Pickin’ Up Strangers’ (1981), ‘Prisoner of Hope’ (1981), ‘Bet Your Heart on Me’ (1981), ‘Be There For Me Baby’ (1982), ‘Cherokee Fiddle’ (1982), ‘Sounds Like Love’ (1983), ‘Hey Bartender’ (1983), ‘The Yellow Rose’ (with Lane Brody, 1984), ‘You Could’ve Heard a Heart Break’ (1984), and ‘Rollin’ Lonely’ (1985)
    He was a one hit wonder on the pop charts, with ‘Looking for Love’ his only song to cross over to the Top 40.
    He performed ‘Looking for Love’ in an episode of CHiPs.
    He was married and divorced twice, with one of his exes being actress Charlene Tilton.
    He was an opening act and member of the house band at Mickey Gilley’s nightclub.
    ‘Looking for Love’ hit #1 on Billboard’s country chart, top five on the pop chart, and top ten on the adult contemporary chart.
    He founded the Johnny Lee Pro-Am Golf Tournament as a fundraiser for the Home for Guided Hands, a charity for the mentally handicapped.
    His son Johnny Lee Jr. died of a drug overdose at age 23.
