    He fired his TV show's vocalist Julius LaRosa, live on the air. He was upset that LaRosa hired a talent agent, so he fired him.
    His firing of the popular LaRosa and failure to negotiate with talent agents caused a rapid decline in his popularity.
    He was standoffish, arrogant and crude to his sponsors.
    He also did his commercials his way, refusing to read script copy.
