The Resume

    (September 23, 1968-March 18, 1974)
    Aired on CBS
    Lucille Ball as Lucy Carter
    Lucie Arnaz as Kim Carter
12880>Desi Arnaz, Jr., as Craig Carter
Gale Gordon as Harrison Otis 'Harry' Carter
Premise: Lucy Carter, a widower with two teenaged children, goes to work at her brother-in-law's employment agency

Why Here's Lucy might be annoying:

She ended The Lucy Show and started this series because she had sold Desilu Studios to Gulf & Western and did not want to star in a show that she no longer owned.
Doris Singleton from I Love Lucy was going to have a recurring role as Harry Carter's secretary, but the idea was dropped when Ball's children were cast in the series.
Desi Arnaz, Jr., left after season three to pursue a movie career.
The final episode of season four was a back-door pilot for a potential spin-off starring Luci Arnaz. It was not picked up.
Ball broke her leg in a 1972 skiing accident, which required the slapstick and physical comedy to be toned down during the last two seasons.
The fifth season ranked #15 in the Nielsen ratings, the first time a series starring Ball had not finished in the top ten.
For several years, its reruns were restricted to CBS daytime as no one wanted to compete with the widely syndicated 'I Love Lucy' and 'The Lucy Show.'

Why Here's Lucy might not be annoying:

Unlike most shows of the era, it was filmed before a live studio audience, at Ball's insistence, as she felt she worked best with an audience.
The writers interviewed Luci and Desi, Jr., to make their dialogue more believable.
Although no All in the Family, episodes did address the civil rights movement, the sexual revolution, and the generation gap.
It was CBS's highest-rated show for the 1970-71 season.
Vivian Vance made six guest appearances on the series. (Ball had talked to her about joining the regular cast after Vance moved back to California, but she declined due to failing health.)
In one episode, Lucy Carter enters a Lucille Ball look-alike contest and, via split screens, meets Ball.
'Here's Lucy,' 'The Lucy Show' and 'I Love Lucy' each lasted six seasons.
