    He was offered several basketball scholarships in high school and didn't play football until college.

    As an entrepreneur, he started a boxing team for young fighters and founded the Ed 'Too Tall Jones' Scholarship, awarding eligible college students at Dallas County's Brookhaven College stipends to offset tuition fees and books.
