The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was a virtual unknown prior to the 1999 season.
Despite posting impressive numbers with the Angels, the team released him fearing he would ask for an outrageous contract.
His tenure in Detroit was considered a disappointment.
Despite signing a three year contract with the Tigers, he only pitched 26 games with a 1-3 record.
He spent the entire 2006 season out of baseball before deciding to make a comeback with the Cardinals the following season.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served as the setup man for future Hall of Fame pitcher Lee Smith in his rookie season.
He earned four All-Star berths between 1996 and 2001.
He was a member of the first Angels team to capture a World Series championship (2002).
Despite missing the entire 2006 season to injuries, his Tiger teammates voted in favor of giving him an American League championship ring and a share of the money from the team's playoff run in which he used to purchase a luxury box at Comerica Park for the players wives.
He was an integral part of the Rays 2008 turnaround season.
