    Acted in ‘The Invisible Man (1933),’ ‘Dark Victory (1939),’ ‘High Sierra (1941),’ ‘Mrs. Miniver (1942),’ ‘Shadow of a Doubt (1943)’ and ‘The Bells of St. Mary’s (1945)’
    He had a huge nose.
    He frequently played the role of a kind-hearted bumbler.
    As a result of his friendly appearance, his attempts at villainous roles were usually unsuccessful.
    He had a kindly demeanor.
    Before coming to film, he was an accomplished actor on the London and Broadway stages.
    He earned an Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘Mrs. Miniver.’
    He is buried directly across from W.C. Fields.
