    Executive producer of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (May-August, 1992)
    She planted a story in the New York Post claiming that NBC executives could not wait for Johnny Carson to retire so Leno could take over and bring in a younger audience.
    She launched a booking war with Arsenio Hall, banning stars who appeared on his show from the Tonight Show.
    Former Tonight Show producer Fred De Cordova said of her behavior, 'I have never been part of a system that was so offensive or insulting to other people.'
    When NBC fired her, she threw objects, breaking the mirror in her office.
    She sued HBO for $20 million over her portrayal in the TV movie 'The Late Shift.' (They settled out of court.)
    Her son Samuel died at age three from AIDS caused by a transfusion of infected blood.
    She testified before Congress about the need to change the regulations governing blood donations.
    Kathy Bates was nominated for an Emmy for portraying her in 'The Late Shift.'
    She guided Leno's career from local comedy clubs to one of the pinnacles of show biz.
    She let Leno maintain his nice guy reputation while handling the back-stabbing and other dirty work.
