Why she might be annoying
She was very nervous when she bowled.
She chewed gum to calm her nerves.
She was nicknamed 'The Chiclet-Chewing Lady.'
After losing a tournament in 1958 she said: 'I guess I inspired all my opponents to bowl well against me.'
Why she might not be annoying
She was selected Greatest Woman Bowler of All Time (1973).
She won the first Professional Women's Bowling Association Championship (1960).
She was selected Bowler of the Year nine times. She won more Bowler of the Year trophy than anyone else.
She was selected #94 by Sports Illustrated for Women's Century's Greatest Sportswomen.
