    Before she started gymnastics, her mother made a failed attempt to get her into ballet.
    She was originally set to compete in the 1995 World Championships, but a sprained ankle kept her out of competition.
    Her performances in the individual events at the 2000 Olympics were a disappointment.
    She has a degree in biology from Stanford University.
    She used to play the piano.
    She is in the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame as both a member of the 'Magnificent 7' Team and an individual.
    She was the namesake of two gymnastic moves, the 'Chow/Khorkina' and the 'Chow II.'
    While performing on bars, she did the double-twisting Yurchenko and the double-double dismount as she was the first female American gymnast to do so.
    She, along with members of the 2000 U.S. team, were given the Bronze Medal after the Chinese team got disqualified for having a member who violated the minimum age policy as it was found out by the IOC (April 28, 2010).
    She said that she felt bad about the Chinese team trying their best.
