    Outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles (1989-90), Houston Astros (1991-94), San Diego Padres (1995-98), Arizona Diamondbacks (1999-2004), Los Angeles Dodgers (2004), Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (2005), San Francisco Giants (2006) and the Colorado Rockies (2007)
    Gold Glove winner (1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2004)
    His career ended abruptly when he was released by the Rockies and failed to catch on with another team.
    He played on all five teams in the National League West.
    He was part of an twelve player trade between the Astros and Padres that took place during the player's strike (1994).
    He didn't reach his potential in the majors until his trade to the Padres.
    Despite establishing himself as a regular for the Padres, the team allowed him to leave as a free agent in a salary dump move.
    He established himself as an everyday player upon being traded to the Astros.
    He played in two World Series at the start and end of the Yankee three peat (1998, 2001).
    He missed a portion of Spring training after being diagnosed with Bell's Palsy (1993).
    He was a reliable presence at the center field position, well into his late 30's.
    He played the later innings in a game, hours after his youngest son was born (1995).
