    Died of complications stemming from a brain bleed at the age of 25

Why he might be annoying:

    He died unexpectedly at the age of 25.
    He spent the majority of his junior career on a poor Swift Current Broncos team.
    He was passed over in the NHL Draft due to his size.
    He failed to crack a full time spot on both the Bruins and Oilers rosters.
    He primarily played on the bottom six forward lines in the NHL.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served as the Broncos captain for his final two seasons with the club.
    He was considered a great teammate by his peers.
    He was claimed off waivers by the Oilers, which he considered a dream come true, due to Edmonton's close proximity to his hometown of Battleford, SAskatchewan.
    Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital could not allow his parents or wife to visit him in his last few days.
    Wayne Gretzky tweeted a message of condolences and support to his family.
    His death landed on the same day Canucks legend Trevor Linden turned 50.
