Nicknamed 'The Fifth Beatle'

Why he might be annoying:

He started as a Catskills borscht belt comic, warming up audiences for the headliners.
He got his big break when he took over Alan Freed's timeslot after Freed was fired for payola.
Tom Wolfe called him 'the original hysterical disc jockey.'
When WINS switched to all-news, he resigned on the air and revealed the planned format change before the station could announce it.
He was married six times, with his third marriage lasting three months.
