Religious Figure
    (April 30, 1960- )
    Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Followed L. Ron Hubbard as leader of Scientology
Formal title: Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center (the corporation controlling the trademarks of Scientology and Dianetics)
He dropped out of high school to join Scientology's Sea Org.
Hubbard's son, Ronald DeWolf, accused him of embezzling from and manipulating Hubbard.
He rarely appears publicly outside of Scientology-related events.
Former Scientologists accuse him of physically and emotionally abusing his subordinates, with a former secretary declaring, 'His viciousness and his cruelty to staff was unlike anything that I had ever experienced in my life.'
He allegedly ordered Tom Cruise's auditing sessions secretly taped, then read the actor's confessions aloud at parties of senior Scientologists.
He was introduced to Scientology as a child by his father, who believed that Dianetics could cure the kid's asthma.
He denied DeWolf's accusations and a lawsuit based on them was dismissed (1983).
He calls the abuse allegations lies made by ex-Scientologists with an axe to grind.
