During testimony in front of congress, he kept claiming he knew nothing of partnerships the company illegally formed to hide debt (February 7, 2002).
The Congressional committee believes he was not entirely truthful.
ENRON losing its entire value has destroyed many people's life savings and retirement funds.

Why he might not be annoying:

At 15 years old, he helped launch a low budget television station in Aurora Illinois (which was the basis of 'Wayne's World').
He did not hide behind his fifth amendment rights.
He takes key customers on 1,000 mile dirt bike trips and a week hike through the Australian Outback.
He turned Enron into the biggest wholesaler of electricity and gas.
Enron made $27,000,000,000 (twenty seven billion) in trade in just his first quarter as President/COO (2000).
In his first quarter as CEO, his first quarter trading was $162,000,000,000 (162 billion) (2001).
From November 1999-March 2001 the amount traded was $525,000,000.
