    (August 11, 1941- )
Born in New York City, New York
    Represented New York's 16th District (January 3, 1973–January 3, 1981)

Why she might be annoying:

She beat out former Miss America Bess Myerson for her party's 1980 Senate primary.
She lost by one percent of the vote to Alfonse D'Amato.
Her 1992 Senate candidacy saw her face off against Geraldine Ferraro, leading to a 'cat fight' narrative in the media.
She accused Ferraro of ethics violations during her House career and even suggested her family had ties to the Mafia.
She finished last behind Ferraro, Al Sharpton, and winner Robert Abrams.
She was blamed for the expensive and brutal Senate primary that left Abrams too weakened to beat a vulnerable D'Amato (she refused to endorse Abrams).

Why she might not be annoying:

She won in an upset against Emanuel Celler, a 50-year incumbent and the House's longest serving member at that time.
She co-authored the first refugee law in connection with the Vietnam War.
She worked on the House Judiciary committee and voted to President Nixon.
She helped pass legislation to expel Nazi war criminals who entered into the United States.
She famously questioned President Ford about his pardon of Nixon, aggressively defending the government’s claim over the Nixon tapes and papers.
She was the first woman to be elected district attorney and comptroller in New York City.
She became the youngest woman elected to Congress at the age of thirty-one (a record held until Elise Stefanik in 2014).
She resigned as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council over the Trump administration's separation of migrant children from their families.
