Third base coach for the Seattle Mariners (1988 and 1991)
Manager for the Seattle Mariners (1992)

Why he might be annoying:

He was always used as a back-up catcher during his playing career.
Before the Mariners lost a game to the Chicago White Sox, he saw an error in his lineup card that had two first basemen without a designated hitter (April 16, 1992).
As the Reds won two straight World Series titles (1975-1976), he didn't appear in any game.
He was fired as the Mariners' manager after one season as the team nearly lost 100 games.

Why he might not be annoying:

He got to back up for Johnny Bench in his time in Cincinnati.
He performed solid defense as a catcher.
He was one of the future managers who used to play for Sparky Anderson's teams.
