He is a devout Christian who tries to project his morality on others.
On the Cleveland Indians, he complained about teammate, Kevin Mitchell, playing rap music.
On the New York Yankees, he spoke against Derek Jeter, who joked with Alex Rodriguez during a brawl.
On the Texas Rangers, he clashed with Royce Clayton and then Ivan Rodriguez.
After hitting a World Series game winning walk-off homerun, he refused to be interviewed on NBC TV by Jim Grey citing Jim Grey disrespect for Pete Rose.
He was convicted on six counts of criminal sexual misconduct for touching teenage girls at a high school he volunteered at (August 16, 2013).
