Football Player
    (March 30, 1988- )
    Born in Compton, California
    Cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks
Known for this 'epic' rant in a post NFC Championship interview with Erin Andrews: 'Well, I'm the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you're gonna get. Don't you ever talk about me. (Who was talking about you?) Crabtree. Don't you open your mouth about the best. Or, I'm-a shut it for you real quick' (January 19, 2014)
His reputation for taunting opposing players turned him into a polarizing player among football fans.
He was fined $7,875 for making a choking gesture toward Colin Kaepernick during the NFC Championship game (January 25, 2014).
He wasn't shy about letting the world know that Michael Crabtree was a mediocre player.
He was punched in the face by Trent Williams following a Wild Card playoff game (2013).
Though white hockey players known for fighting are called 'thugs', he felt being called a 'thug' was the same thing as being called the n-word.
Following his 'epic' rant, he sold 'Don't you ever talk about me' t-shirts on his official website.
He graduated Stanford with a communications degree and a 3.9 GPA.
He quickly became known as one of the top defensive players in the NFL following his debut.
He started the Richard Sherman Family Foundation to provide school supplies for underprivileged children.
He says he's a 'nerd' and a 'square' who's into watching Animal Planet and the History Channel.
He memorably put obnoxious sports commentator Skip Bayless in his place on live television.
He unfairly experienced a great deal of racially based backlash following his rant.
His game-winning tip in the NFC Championship sent the Seahawks to their second Super Bowl.
