Best known for his hit 'The Monster Mash'
Frontman of Bobby 'Boris' Pickett and the Crypt Kickers
His only hit is rarely played on the radio outside of Halloween time.
'The Monster Mash' is full of cheesy wordplays such as 'Whatever happened to my Transylvania Twist?'
He tried to capitalize on the success of 'Monster Mash' by doing a Christmas version.
He further milked the song by starring in a film based on the tune.
Mike Tyson and Bobby Brown performed a bizarre version of the song on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.'
People thought his impersonation of Boris Karloff was so spot-on that they convinced him to write a song around it.
'The Monster Mash' hit number one on the Billboard singles chart (1962).
It charted two more times years after its original Billboard appearance.
Karloff eventually performed the song himself on a television appearance.
His song is a favorite on oldies stations and campy films.
