Football Coach

The Resume

    (September 1, 1903-July 19, 1994)
    Born in Spokane, Washington
Tight end for the Los Angeles Wildcats (AFL I) (1926), New York Yankees (1927-1928) and the New York Giants (1928-1929, 1931-1935)

Why he might be annoying:

He told Redskins owner George Preston Marshall that he wanted to resign as the head coach if the team didn't win the NFL championship (1936).
He changed his mind and stayed with the Redskins as they moved from Boston to Washington, D.C. (1937).
He quit his coaching position from the Yankees after 4 games into the 1948 season.
His coaching career ended as the Hornets lost 8 games.

Why he might not be annoying:

He came up with the idea of wearing sneakers to have good foot power on frozen ground as the Giants played against the Chicago Bears in the 1934 NFL Championship; the Giants won that game 30-13.
    He created the screen pass.
He was first NFL head coach to use the two-platoon system (one rushing, one passing unit).
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He coached the Washington Redskins to two NFL Championship titles (1937 and 1942).
