Teams were the Boston Reds, Brooklyn Wonders, Buffalo Bisons, Chicago Pirates, Cleveland Infants, New York Giants, Philadelphia Quakers and Pittsburgh Burghers
Lone championship won by the Boston Reds
    Also known as the Brotherhood
Formed by the Brotherhood of Professional Baseball Players
It sounds like the name of a rap posse or gambling organization.
It only lasted for one season.
The league was created by players who wanted to build both their salaries and their careers.
Instead, they went back to square one or the end of their careers once the league folded.
They named a team the New York Giants, the same name as an already existing National League club.
To add confusion, the PL Giants built a stadium right next to the NL Giants.
The league's formation led to the weakening and eventual folding of another major league, the American Association.
It was the only 'major' baseball league owned by the players themselves.
The players formed the league after the NL owners kept reserving players' contracts with smaller salaries.
Their games usually outdrew even the National League's.
It used two umpires instead of the then-customary one.
Its formation led to the building of new facilities that were eventually used by other major league clubs.
The famed Polo Grounds stadium was built by its version of the Giants.
