Why they might be annoying
They call themselves 'The Greatest Rock and Roll Band on Earth.'
Their early music were covers and rip offs of old black, blues singers.
They publicized themselves as the antithesis of The Beatles.
They enjoy the bad boy image.
They abuse drug and drink.
Students were thrown out of schools in England for having unkempt hair styles like the Stones.
Besides being unkempt, they did not bathe regularly.
They were fine £5 for urinating in public (1965).
They sued 14 New York City hotels for turning down their request for lodgings (1966).
Jagger, Jones and Richards imprisoned for drug possession (1967).
At the Altamont concert, fans were beaten and trampled by the Stones security guards, the Hell's Angels (1969).
Why they might not be annoying
The Stones made a commitment to play Magdalen College's 1964's Commemoration Ball for £100, when they were unknown (1963).
They left their US tour to fly back to England to honor the commitment at an airline fare of £1500 (1964).
Despite the press rivalry, they were fans of The Beatles.
They have worked together for over thirty-five years.
They ranked #6 in Forbes Power List (2000).
