The Resume

    (July 22, 1943- )
    Born in Santa Monica, California
Teen idol of the late '60s to early '70s
Recorded 'Little Woman,' 'Sounds Along the Way,' 'La La La (If I Had You),' 'Easy Come, Easy Go,' 'Seattle,' 'Hey, Mister Sun,' 'Julie, Do Ya Love Me?,' 'Cried Like a Baby' and 'The Drum'
Portrayed Jeremy Bolt in the TV series 'Here Come the Brides' (1968-69) and Frankie Rondell in 'Sanchez of Bel Air' (1986)
Member of the Los Angeles Police Dept. (1988-99) and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept. (1999- )

Why he might be annoying:

    He was an introverted teen.
He was still gracing the covers of teen magazines '16' and 'Tiger Beat' when he was in his early 30s, which is more than a little creepy.
When his eight year marriage ended in 1979, his ex-wife married his 'Here Come the Brides' co-star David Soul.
Portraying an ex-teen idol living off royalty checks (big stretch) on 'Sanchez of Bel Air,' the show lasted just 13 episodes.
For some reason he made entirely by hand a one-fifth scale model of Disneyland's Main Street, which he keeps in his back yard.
Long eligible for AARP, his fan club site offers such fare as the board game Bobby-opoly.

Why he might not be annoying:

He overcame his shyness to become a singing sensation to millions of screaming teen girls.
He has six gold albums and six gold singles to his credit.
Besides ranking #8 on TV Guide's' TV's 25 Greatest Teen Idols,' he spent a few years making girls swoon on the Teen Idol Tour with Peter Noone and Davy Jones (later with Micky Dolenz).
While making a 1974 guest appearance on 'Emergency!,' he realized he wanted to someday become a paramedic and a dozen years later did so.
Since the late '80s, he has trained new law enforcement recruits CPR and first aid techniques in Southern California.
He has received several awards for his humanitarian efforts and donates time to the Precious Paws shelter in Encino for abandoned and/or abused companion animals.
Unlike some teen idols before and after him, he never got in trouble with the law, turned to booze and drugs or became full of himself.
