    Despite not qualifying for the 1976 U.S. Olympic team she stuck with the national team.
    Her autopsy revealed she had Marfan's syndrome (a congenital disorder affecting tall, thin people).
    The Flo Hyman Memorial Award is named in her honor.
    She was selected #69 by Sports Illustrated for Women's Century's Greatest Sportswomen.
