Why he might be annoying:

He was part of the disappointing 2006 World Baseball Classic Team USA.
He was traded to the Cubs just one day after he was traded to the Athletics.
He grabbed and punched A.J. Pierzynski after Pierzynski crossed home (May 20, 2006).
Cubs manager Dusty Baker was embarrassed by his actions.
He was drafted as a shortstop, then switched to third basemen, finally settling on catcher.
He was suspended ten games for punching A.J. Pierzynski (May 26, 2006).

Why he might not be annoying:

He unselfishly switched his number from 5 to 8 when Nomar Garciaparra joined the Cubs in 2004.
He is an aggressive player who is not afraid to speak his mind.
While playing the World Baseball Classic, he wrote many articles about his experiences with the team.
He was the Gatorade State Player of the Year for Georgia (1995).
He was selected to the all-USA high school baseball team in 1995.
Kerry Wood suggested to him to destroy Sammy Sosa's loud boombox.
It is believed that he did destroy the boombox with a bat.
