Why she might be annoying
She had one blue eye and one green eye.
In almost all of her movies, she appeared as either 'Gracie' or 'Miss Allen'
Her nickname was Googie.
She had three middle names.
Her initials G.E.C.R.A. was an anagram of her first name Grace.
Why she might not be annoying
Comedian George Burns discovered Gracie in 1922, and immediately saw that she was the funnier of the two. So he became her straight man, while she delivered the punch lines.
Her gags included many relatives such as a missing brother and her infatuation with actor, Charles Boyer.
Her comedy was also a simplistic logic, for example, the mailman returns a letter saying it weighed too much and needs an additional stamp, Gracie would say, well that will only make it heavier.
She and George were married nearly forty years (1926-64), when she died.
In her honor, The Gracie Allen Award is given to the American Women in Radio and Television.
