Why he might be annoying
His role of the ‘other guitarist who gets no credit,’ has been compared to Pat Smear’s role in Nirvana.
He is rarely shown on TV, and has only appeared in brief parts of the music videos for ‘Wake Me up When September Ends’ and ‘Jesus of Suburbia.’
He is never shown in photographs of the band.
He shares his name with a former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback.
Just like the rest of the members of Green Day, he smokes pot.
Why he might not be annoying
He doesn’t mind getting little credit, and is thrilled just to play with the band.
He met Billie Joe Armstrong while one of his old bands was opening for Green Day.
He was a longtime friend of the members of Green Day before they asked him to join the band.
Many Green Day fans say that he enriches the bands sound at live shows, by adding new guitar parts.
