Why they might be annoying:

They originated as session musicians named Hotlegs.
The name 10cc represents the average amount of semen (in cubic centimeters) a man produces during ejaculation. Their manager suggest the name 10cc.
'I'm Not in Love' has that gay hook/interlude 'Be quiet, big boys don't cry, big boys don't cry...' in the middle of it.
Godley and Creme left the group in 1975 to focus on video production and develop 'the Gizmo,' a guitar modification device they created.
The original line-up reunited in 1992, for an unsuccessful album.
Gouldman and Stewart remained for a 1993 album, but it also went nowhere and the group broke up for good a second time.
Creme has a first name that in today's Internet society means 'Laughing Out Loud.'

Why they might not be annoying:

Gouldman had written songs for the Yardbirds, the Hollies, Jeff Beck and Herman's Hermits.
Stewart was a former member of Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders.
As session musicians they backed vocalists including Neil Sedaka.
They had a handful of #1 hits in the UK, and 'I'm Not in Love' hit #2 on the Billboard charts in the US (1975).
'The Things We Do for Love' went Top 10 in the US (1977).
Since disbanding Stewart has worked with Paul McCartney and produced the soft pop group Sad Café.
Gouldman produced the Ramones and Gilbert O'Sullivan.
Several of their songs are tongue-in-cheek lightweight compositions. The band never took themselves too seriously poking fun at themselves and their music.
