Appeared in the films 'Panama Sal' (1957), 'Lover Come Back' (1961), 'The Love Bug' (1969), 'The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes' (1969), 'The Barefoot Executive' (1971), 'The Million Dollar Duck' (1971), 'Superdad' (1973), 'The Strongest Man in the World' (1975) and 'The Rescuers' (voice only, 1977)

Why he might be annoying:

Before heading for Hollywood, he ran unsuccessfully for the Ohio state senate.
He was cast in Hitchcock's 'Rear Window,' but his part ended up on the cutting room floor.
He claimed he went into comedy after audiences laughed at his serious performance in the sci-fi film 'Indestructible Man' (1956).
He drowned when he went swimming in his pool despite having a cast on his broken leg.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served as an entertainer with the Army's Special Services Branch during World War II.
He was fired from 'The Joey Bishop Show' for stealing too many scenes from the star (1961).
He led an effort by the Screen Actors Guild to obtain more equitable distribution of TV residuals.
While in South Carolina as a guest speaker for a meeting of the American Cancer Society, he was mugged at his hotel and robbed of his watch (April, 1974).
