TV Series
    (September 28, 1987-August 1, 2011)
Aired in syndication (1987-88) and GSN (2002-11)
    Original version ran from September 28, 1987-March 25, 1988
    GSN version ran from August 5, 2002-June 29, 2007
Second GSN version ran from June 6, 2011-August 1, 2011
Hosted by Michael Reagan (1987-88), Ralph Andrews (1988), Chuck Woolery (2002-07) and Bill Engvall (2011)
Premise: Contestants must solve five-letter word puzzles and get five in a row on their 'Lingo' card to win cash and prizes.
Co-hosted by Dusty Martell (1987-88), Margaux MacKenzie (1988), Stacey Hayes (2003–04), Paula Cobb (2004) and Shandi Finnessey (2004-07)
It was an odd combination of Hangman and Bingo.
The 80's version had severe budget problems and its contestants were never paid their cash winnings.
The contestants often lost points because they couldn't correctly spell the words.
Woolery would tell the contestants to 'grab a couple of balls' after they solved a puzzle.
Paula Cobb was dropped as co-host after only a few episodes.
It was canceled despite still being popular, and then unsuccessfully brought back a few years later with Bill Engvall hosting.
It is a fun game to play along with at home.
It has been compared to Woolery's earlier successful game show 'Scrabble.'
It was one of GSN's most popular series, even in reruns years after it was canceled.
The first season of the GSN version was shot on the Dutch version's set.
It gave away pretty large cash prizes for it being a cable show.
