    Attended Bradley University
    Center fielder/third baseman for the Detroit Tigers (1952, 1954-1957), Kansas City Athletics (1958-1961) and the Minnesota Twins (1961-1963)
    Died of oral cancer at age 69

Why he might be annoying:

    He made his major league debut with a Tigers team that went on to lose 104 games.
    He chewed tobacco.
    In several baseball card pictures, he had a higher cheekbone due to his tobacco chewing.
    During the 1955 season, he was the AL leader in outs made (481) and grounded into double plays (25).

    He spoke to major league players about how tobacco chewing causes many health problems.
    He appeared in 154 games during the 1955 season.
    He posted a career high .300 batting average in 1959, and recorded 4 hits, including a home run, during a game that season.
    He had good defense as he was the two-time AL leader in put outs (1955 and 1960).
    He played for the first Minnesota Twins team.
