    Born in Bluefield, West Virginia
    New York City street comedian
Frequently performed in Washington Square Park
Appeared in the films 'D.C. Cab' (1983), 'Beer' (1985), 'Nobody's Fool' (1986), 'Mondo New York' (1988) and 'They BIte' (1996)

Why he might be annoying:

When he was 11, he skipped out of his hometown one week before he was to be sent to a reformatory.
He had a promising audition for SNL but failed to show for a follow-up reading (mainly because he could not read the cue cards); as a result, the show signed Eddie Murphy instead (1980).
    He abused heroin.
His drug use got him banned from the 'Miami Vice' set.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a lightning-fast ad-libber.
Comedian Ian Edwards said, 'I've never seen Charlie perform and not get standing ovations.'
He was a mentor to Dave Chappelle.
