    Formed in Los Angeles, CA
    1967 line-up:
    Ed King - lead guitar
    Mark Weitz - keyboards
    Lee Freeman - rhythm guitar
Gary Bunnell- bass & rhythm guitar
    Randy Seol - drums
    Recorded 'Incense and Peppermints'
They are a one hit wonder.
They took a stereotypical late '60s 'flower power' group name.
None of the band members sang lead on their only hit - they invited a 16-year-old friend to do the honor.
They went through several line-up changes before quitting in 1971, and a few of them got back together to perform in the 1980's as an oldies act.
'Incense and Peppermints' was a #1 Billboard Singles chart hit in 1967 and sold over 1 million copies.
They appeared as themselves in the Jack Nicholson movie 'Psych-Out (1968)' and the campy Russ Meyer/Roger Ebert penned movie 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970).'
Ed King went on to become part of the legendary triple guitar attack with the rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd.
