Football Player
    (March 14, 1946-December 6, 2018)
    Born in Palo Alto, California
Linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles (1968-71), San Diego Chargers (1972-73), Philadelphia Bell (1974-75) and Houston Oilers (1976)
Appeared in the films ‘The Main Event’ (1979), ‘The Long Riders’ (1980), ‘Looker’ (1981), ‘Night Shift’ (1982), ‘The Sting II’ (1983) and ‘Fists of Steel’ (1991)
    Brother of actor Rick Rossovich
He would wear buckskins, a wizard outfit or a Dracula cape.
When doctors at USC ordered him off the field (while he recovered from an infection contracted from swimming in a dirty fishpond), he tried to convince the coaches he was fit enough to play by bashing in locker doors with his head.
He was better known for his pranks and wacky antics (such as setting himself on fire, driving a motorcycle off a pier, or walking down the street outside his USC fraternity house naked and covered in shaving foam) than his performance on the field.
In his acting career, he was typecast as tough guys.
He was arrested on domestic violence charges (2016).
Tom Selleck was his roommate at USC.
He was co-captain of the USC football team that won the national title (1967).
He beat Mike Ditka in a contest to see who could open the most beer bottles with their teeth, 100 to 3; he then celebrated by drinking a mug of beer and eating the glass.
One of his coaches noted about his enthusiasm, ‘He would practice all day and all night if I wanted him to.’
He said, ‘For me to hear a teammate say, 'Good job,' is more important than fans yelling or sportswriters writing about me.’
