He became the first Artistic Director of the Metropolitan Opera, one of the world’s greatest opera houses.
He is a brilliant pianist as well as conductor.
He is comfortable in many different operatic styles.
He is well liked by singers who work with him.
The pedophile rumors have never been confirmed.
