Why he might be annoying

He was the director of the made-for-cable movie about the O.J. Simpson murder case.
No one is sure what he really looks like, or if anyone has ever seen him in person.
He'll almost certainly never win an Oscar.
Why he might not be annoying
He's an easy scapegoat.
Sometimes, he's the only one courageous enough to take credit for a bad film.
He started directing in the year 1967, making him the only director to begin work in Hollywood in his year of birth.
He was critically acclaimed for his first film, 'Death of a Gunfighter.'
He's taken over films from such directors as Dennis Hopper and Arther Hiller.
There is no limit to the genres of film he will direct.
His name is an anagram for 'The Alias Men.'
