    Member of Hungarian water polo teams that won three Olympic gold medals (1952,1956,1964), one silver (1948) and one bronze (1960)
    Coached teams that won one Olympic gold medal (1976), one silver (1972) and one bronze (1980)
    Served as a member of Parliament (1990-94)
    Inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame (1976)

Why he might be annoying:

    He got away with punching a Soviet player during the 'blood in the water match' (the 1956 Olympics semi-final match) by disguising the punch as part of his follow-through on a throw.
    He was one of several players who defected to the West following the 1956 Olympics in response to the Soviet Union crushing the Hungarian revolution, but he returned two years later when offered amnesty.
    He said, 'Sport had spoiled me. In New York, I was one among millions, where water polo meant nothing.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was left handed.
    He could play any position in the pool.
    He was widely considered the best water polo player of all time.
    He received the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit, Hungary's highest civilian award (2010).
