His film 'Prairie Outlaws' was a recut of 'Wild West,' making him the star instead of Eddie Dean.
He appeared only in formulated matinee westerns.
His films contained little in the way of entertaining western action.

His main weapon was an 18-foot bullwhip.
Many of his films were done on strict budgets and the producers were to blame for their shoddiness.
He made a second career as a guest at countless western festivals from 1971 onwards.
